Ways to Rid Wasps from Around Your Home by Emile Franks
Wasps can be beneficial at times cause they can help control an aphid population, for example, but they can also sting and cause you personal injury. Wasps unlike bees can continually sting over and over and have a stinger strong enough to go through most clothing. If you don't want to have to deal with wasps or have your children be afraid of them in the yard, you need to get rid of them.
The first thing to be sure of is that your backyard is fairly clean. One big mistake is leaving out garbage cans without the lid closed on the outside. This will attract more wasps and other pests to the area. Also trim up the lawn and clean up any sticks to prevent a wide variety of pest issues.
One of the quickest ways of getting rid of wasps is to get rid of the nest. This can be an intimidating process since there are many wasps that will come out of the next to sting you if you attack it. Use a spray that gives you distance or use a long pole to disrupt the nest.
Before you get too many wasps to the area you can hang fake wasps' nests up. They are very territorial and won't want to compete with another colony. This is a simple and cheap way of preventing them from coming to your yard.
Making a wasp trap can also help deal with wasps. Take a milk jug without the lid and fill it up with water and a sugary substance like sugar, jam, even juice along with some dish soap. Wasps are very attracted to sweet things. When they get inside the jug to test out the sweetness they can get it on their wings and have a difficult time climbing out. What's good about the milk jug is that it can be hung from trees if need be to be closer to the nest.

Proper Hunting Knife Care by Flora Richards-Gustafson
Experienced hunters understand what a difference a good hunting knife can make in the field. A high-quality hunting knife, like any other hunting gear, should be treated as an investment and cared for properly so it can last for years.
For starters, it's important to keep in mind that a knife should only be used as it was intended--not as a hammer, screwdriver, hatchet, ice pick or throwing knife (unless it is a throwing knife). Using a knife for any other purpose could permanently damage the blade and cause the warranty to become void.
You should also keep your knife sharp, for safety as well as efficiency. A sharp knife requires less force, reducing the likelihood of accidental injury.
Cleaning Your Hunting Knife
Even if all you did was touch the blade with your fingers, it's important to clean a hunting knife every time it's used. The residual acid left behind by fingerprints can corrode even the highest-quality metal. To clean a knife:
--Wash it by hand with soap and water.
--Use a soft cloth to dry it immediately, taking care not to scratch the blade.
--Never use strong chemical cleaners to remove tough stains, as these can damage the metal. Combine salt and vinegar and gently apply with a clean cork, then wash with soap and water and dry.
Storing Your Hunting Knife
Your clean hunting knife should be stored in a humidity-free environment where it won't be bumped around by other objects. To keep a knife dry and protect it against accidental bumps, you can store it in a sheath made of nylon or thermoplastic acrylic-polyvinyl sheeting. To store a knife for the long term, wrap it in paper and seal it in a plastic bag with desiccant to prevent humidity.
Never store a knife in a leather sheath, particularly tanned leather, as the chemicals within the material can cause it to draw moisture from the air and lead to rust. Instead, save your leather sheath for short-term use in the field, where it provides good protection from the elements.
Oiling Your Hunting Knife
To help fight the battle against rust, it's a good idea to keep your hunting knife oiled. Use an all-purpose or firearm oil on the blade and, if you have a folding knife, on the lock mechanism. When oiling your knife:
--Avoid using too much oil, which will attract dirt and other particles, making the knife feel gummy.
--Oil only the blade, taking care not to get any on the handle. This will cause a slippery grip, which is the last thing a hunter needs out in the field.
--You can, however, treat a wood handle with special oils meant for wood, such as linseed.
A leather handle can be treated with mink oil or leather treatment products. There's no need to treat handles made from rubber or artificial materials.
By properly cleaning and caring for your hunting knife, you can protect your investment and ensure this essential tool will keep performing season after season.

If you are a fried chicken lover who wants to recreate those old family recipes, here are some tips to help you make this classic dish the right way.
A little fat once in a while is not so bad. Whether you decide to make fried chicken the main course for Sunday dinner or take it on a picnic, it is a delicious meal that brings back old memories. There are lots of different ways to make fried chicken, but all good chicken has a few things in common. It is cooked thoroughly, has a moist, juicy interior, and is not too greasy, with a crispy fried coating that tastes great.
There are a few aspects that are vital to making any batch of southern fried chicken a success. One of them is being sure you cut the tips off the wings to the last joint. No one really eats them, and wing tips are good for chicken stock later on. If you take them off now, you do not have to worry as much about crowding the chicken in the pan.
Space in the pan is vitally important. While it is okay for them to touch, you will need to make sure that there is no crowding. That means a skillet of twelve inches in diameter or more if you want to be sure your chicken will cook correctly. Choose a heavy skillet (cast iron is traditional), that will hold heat in well.
Cooking oil is a popular fat for frying chicken, but some people also choose melted shortening for its high smoke point. Look for oils that can get to high temperatures without smoking, and mind the heat of your oil. Fat that is too hot burns the outside and leaves the inside raw, while too little heat will cause greasy chicken that takes a long time to cook.
Usually, your pan should contain more than a half inch of oil, but less than a full inch, a quantity that works well for other recipes fried in the same style as chicken, as well as southern fried chicken recipes. Do not use too little oil or the sides will not cook correctly.
There are two basic ways to flour the chicken, and which one you use will depend on what you prefer and probably on what Grandma did. The paper bag method involves putting spices and flour into a strong paper bag, then dropping the chicken in a few pieces at a time. Close the bag and shake it for even coating with little to no mess.
Using a shallow dish to coat your chicken requires putting the flour and spices into a dish such as a pie pan or casserole, then rolling them in the mixture. This still coats well, and it allows you to see more easily, what you are doing. However, it does result in a bit more mess. Most people will use one method or the other according to personal preference and what their Grandma used.
Work with the same weight of meat specified in the recipe and trim all excess fat and skin before you begin. If you prefer to use skinless boneless chicken or other convenience meats, you will need to cook the chicken for a shorter time. This meat fries up faster and may become dry if overcooked. A little attention, however, will help you ensure you get great fried chicken every time.

How To Make Buttermilk From Milk by YC Sim
Ever wonder how to make buttermilk from milk on your own? There are 2 ways to make buttermilk, and they will produce 2 different outcomes. The first outcome you will get is a substitute for buttermilk, which will taste equally great; however the texture will be slightly different. The second outcome will be of course, the real buttermilk, fresh and ready-made.
Since the 1st way is the easiest, I will start from it.
1st Recipe (To get a substitute for buttermilk)
Ingredients that you will need:
* 1 cup of milk
* 1 tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice
Material that you will need:
* 1 cup measuring cup
That's it! Only 2 ingredients & 1 material are needed and...
Let's start making!
1. Place the white vinegar or lemon juice into the measuring cup.
2. Pour the milk into the measuring cup (together with the white vinegar/lemon juice).
3. Wait for 5 minutes.
4. Your buttermilk substitute is done!
It is fairly easy isn't it? And it can be done in a few simple steps. Now you no longer need to worry if you ever ran out of buttermilk again!
2nd Recipe (To get the real, tasty buttermilk)
Ingredients that you will need:
* 6 - 8 ounces of active cultured buttermilk
* 3 cups of whole milk
Material that you will need:
* 1 clean quart container (with a secure lid)
Hey! There are only 2 ingredients and 1 material needed to make this real buttermilk too! However you will need a much longer time to prepare it? And so?
Let's get making!
1. Pour the cultured buttermilk into the clean quart container.
2. Fill the rest of the container with the whole milk.
3. Screw the lid tightly and shake well.
4. Place the container in a warm corner of your house.
5. Wait for 24 hours.
6. The buttermilk will thicken and coat the glass of the container.
7. The buttermilk is now done and can be kept for weeks!
It will be advisable to put the date that your buttermilk was made on the container to serve as a note. And you will roughly know when the buttermilk will expire.
Comparing the 2nd recipe to the 1st. There is only an increase of 3 steps which means that both the substitute and the real buttermilk are not hard to make! However to get the real buttermilk, you will need 23 hours and 55 minutes longer to make it. But wait! That is only the waiting time.
If you are willing to wait just a little more, you can get the real buttermilk with the right taste and texture to go with your cooking.
Hope by now you have really learnt how to make buttermilk from milk!

A Few Simple Bass Fishing Techniques by Jack Bollen
To give yourself a better chance of catching more bass fish, learning some basic bass fishing techniques is recommended. One such technique involves selecting a dark colored spoon, crankbait, or spinner when fishing in clear water for bass.
Light colored bait will not be easily seen in clear water by bass, so your chances of catching any are not as great. Whereas dark colored baits can be easily spotted and will be more attractive to bass, which of course gives you are greater opportunity for success.
Schools Of Bait Fish
If you are out fishing on a large lake, keep your eyes open for any schools of bait fish. Should you spot these schools of fish, this is an indicator that somewhere nearby bass are lurking. Predatory bass are always somewhere near their dinner, so this basic fishing technique will assist you in finding bass.
Bass fish are selective and will be swimming at deeper depths, at least smallmouth will anyway. A bass fishing technique that you can use to take advantage of this is to use your spoons or spinners to search the deeper structures. The likelihood of getting good results will go up on a slow day.
Species
The type of species will play a role in the type of techniques you should employ. For instance, if you are fishing for striped bass, smallmouth, or largemouth you will to use certain techniques to have success catching each one.
For a smallmouth bass, an important technique is to is to be persistent in your efforts because they are more aggressive and unique than other types.
Meanwhile, skill is more emphasized when attempting to catch largemouth bass. This is in reference specifically to the retrieval process once the fish has taken the bait.
If you are looking to angle striped bass, then the technique changes. Since striped bass are larger, they will put a great deal of effort and force into escaping once they have taken the bait. Therefore, you will really have to use your strength in order to subdue striped bass.
The basic truth is that the bass fishing techniques used to catch largemouth and smallmouth bass is completely different from those used for striped bass. Striped bass are large, display unpredictable behavior, and travels long distances.
This means you will have to track them over long distances. Because they have these traits, in order to succeed in catching striped bass, you will have to use the fishing techniques that match their behavior.

Seven Safety Rules in Kitchen to Make Your Cooking Safe, Easy and Fun by Casey.K
Cooking is a fun and interesting hobby. However, cooking techniques or how to make a delicious dish is not the only thing to learn in kitchen. The very first and important thing to learn is how to be a careful cook. There are several guidelines you need to aware of in order to ensure the safety of your kitchen. Every cooks and chefs have to follow these rules every time in the kitchen.
The first rule for the cook is to keep the kitchen clean and make sure the food is hygiene. Chefs must remember always wash their hands before handling food. When preparing for the dishes, make sure you wash the ingredients thoroughly. This will help to remove the chemicals ad dirt of the vegetables and fruits.
The next tip to follow is to learn how to prevent unnecessary injury. As you know there are many utensils in the kitchen and some are dangerous if you do not handle them properly, such as knives. When you need to cut vegetables or food, make sure you use the cutting board. Do not try the shortcut with your hand.
Another tip when cutting something is to cut in a direction away from your fingers.
Pot is one of kitchenware that must be handled carefully. This is especially true when you have kids around the kitchen. They could accidentally knock off the hot pot and injured themselves. To avoid this, turn all the pot handles towards the back of the stove. When you need to move the hot pots or pans, the pot holder is preferred compared to wet cloth. This is because the wet cloth might produce the steam which could burn you.
Another way to prevent injury from the hot steam is to make sure the hot pot lid opening is away from you.
The tidiness of cook is also very important, not only for the appearance, but also prevents you from accident. If you have long hair, make sure you tie back before you start to work in the kitchen. Tide up the loose clothing as well. This is because it is easy to catch fire especially when you are near to the stove.
What if you accidentally get burnt? Quickly hold the burn under running water as cold water helps to transfer the heat out. Do not apply butter or grease as they will keep the heat in.
Lastly, if your kitchen catches fire due to oil or grease, try to get salt or baking soda and throw them at the bottom of the fire. Do not use water as it will not help. Turn the stove burners off and call for help immediately.
Keep in mind these tips no matter you are new to the kitchen or experienced cook. Remember that cleanliness and safety always is the first priority and make your cooking experience safe, easy and fun!

Ways for fishing the Shark by soniya1
Fishing is the action of catching fish. There are many techniques for catching the fish such as hand gathering, spearing, netting, angling and trapping. Shark fishing is considered as one of the most fun rewarding hobbies. The important thing to remember is that the sharks do not purposely bite the people. Sharks are also known commonly as garbage disposals because of its capability to eat anything.
Barracuda are oily fish that has a pungent and unique odor. If you want to attract the shark to your side, then simply cut and open a barracuda. After finish cutting hang it from a boat and then wait for half an hour. So you can locate the sharks in the area of fishing quickly. Live bait is also one of the best options for catching the sharks. The bait that used to catch the sharks consists of many things that the sharks find tasty. Generally these are tuna, eels and stingrays.
When using freshly cut fish for bait, the head plays the important role. The head portion of the fish is the best part. Depending on the size of the fish cut the fish an inch or two behind the head. You can get more number of fish using the head section because the sharks like the bloody head portion much any other parts. Also the freshly killed fish is better than the frozen fishes.
There are many kinds of equipment that used for catching the fish. The hook is one of the best equipment for catching them. Always use a sharp and thick shank hook because the mouth of a shark is very big and thick that is difficult to penetrate. The large sharks have very strong and big mouth so whenever they roll over and over it presses hook. So having a thin rod hooks will leads to loss of the fish. Sharpening the hooks each and every time after completed the fishing is more important.
First you have to chum the waters by cutting a set of bait fish and spread it around the area where you going to fish. This will greatly attract the sharks. Then set up some three to four rigs with hooks at different water levels. When the shark bites then roll the shark in. You should have strong body because some sharks were very strong. The next step is you need to release the shark Fishing. It is little bit difficult process since the sharks don’t have backbone they can twist easily all around the way. Avoid putting your hands near the gills because if you mistakenly rip its gills, it could lead to death.

Making a garden. by lily222
The first thing in garden making is the selection of a spot. Without a choice, it means simply doing the best one can with conditions. With space limited it resolves itself into no garden, or a box garden. Surely a box garden is better than nothing at all.
But we will now suppose that it is possible to really choose just the right site for the garden. What shall be chosen? The greatest determining factor is the sun. No one would have a north corner, unless it were absolutely forced upon him; because, while north corners do for ferns, certain wild flowers, and begonias, they are of little use as spots for a general garden.
If possible, choose the ideal spot a southern exposure. Here the sun lies warm all day long. When the garden is thus located the rows of vegetables and flowers should run north and south. Thus placed, the plants receive the sun's rays all the morning on the eastern side, and all the afternoon on the western side. One ought not to have any lopsided plants with such an arrangement.
Suppose the garden faces southeast. In this case the western sun is out of the problem. In order to get the best distribution of sunlight run the rows northwest and southeast.
The idea is to get the most sunlight as evenly distributed as possible for the longest period of time. From the lopsided growth of window plants it is easy enough to see the effect on plants of poorly distributed light. So if you use a little diagram remembering that you wish the sun to shine part of the day on one side of the plants and part on the other, you can juggle out any situation. The southern exposure gives the ideal case because the sun gives half time nearly to each side. A northern exposure may mean an almost entire cut-off from sunlight; while northeastern and southwestern places always get uneven distribution of sun's rays, no matter how carefully this is planned.
The garden, if possible, should be planned out on paper. The plan is a great help when the real planting time comes. It saves time and unnecessary buying of seed.
New garden spots are likely to be found in two conditions: they are covered either with turf or with rubbish. In large garden areas the ground is ploughed and the sod turned under; but in small gardens remove the sod. How to take off the sod in the best manner is the next question. Stake and line off the garden spot. The line gives an accurate and straight course to follow. Cut the edges with the spade all along the line. If the area is a small one, say four feet by eighteen or twenty, this is an easy matter. Such a narrow strip may be marked off like a checkerboard, the sod cut through with the spade, and easily removed. This could be done in two long strips cut lengthwise of the strip. When the turf is cut through, roll it right up like a roll of carpet.
But suppose the garden plot is large. Then divide this up into strips a foot wide and take off the sod as before. What shall be done with the sod? Do not throw it away for it is full of richness, although not quite in available form. So pack the sod grass side down one square on another. Leave it to rot and to weather. When rotted it makes a fine fertilizer. Such a pile of rotting vegetable matter is called a compost pile. All through the summer add any old green vegetable matter to this. In the fall put the autumn leaves on. A fine lot of goodness is being fixed for another season.
Even when the garden is large enough to plough, I would pick out the largest pieces of sod rather than have them turned under. Go over the ploughed space, pick out the pieces of sod, shake them well and pack them up in a compost heap.
Mere spading of the ground is not sufficient. The soil is still left in lumps. Always as one spades one should break up the big lumps. But even so the ground is in no shape for planting. Ground must be very fine indeed to plant in, because seeds can get very close indeed to fine particles of soil. But the large lumps leave large spaces which no tiny root hair can penetrate. A seed is left stranded in a perfect waste when planted in chunks of soil. A baby surrounded with great pieces of beefsteak would starve. A seed among large lumps of soil is in a similar situation. The spade never can do this work of pulverizing soil. But the rake can. That's the value of the rake. It is a great lump breaker, but will not do for large lumps. If the soil still has large lumps in it take the hoe.
Many people handle the hoe awkwardly. The chief work of this implement is to rid the soil of weeds and stir up the top surface. It is used in summer to form that mulch of dust so valuable in retaining moisture in the soil. I often see people as if they were going to chop into atoms everything around. Hoeing should never be such vigorous exercise as that. Spading is vigorous, hard work, but not hoeing and raking.
After lumps are broken use the rake to make the bed fine and smooth. Now the great piece of work is done.
BECOME AN ACTOR.

The Basics of Fishing by Parsons Staff Writer
Fishing as a sport is also known as recreational fishing. Fishing is the activity of catching fish from water source by use of any means. A person can use a rod, reel, line, spear, hooks, or bait. Fishing for sports involves the fisherman or woman to attract fish using artificial baits and then releasing the fish back to water in attempt to improve their skills. This can be done for recreation or pleasure. Fishing can be done from boats or land shore. A person should be well versed with the behavior of fish, their migration, and environment. This will determine the success of the catch or not. Sport fishing varies in relation to the targeted fish and the resources available. In sport fishing, trap methods like netting are avoided. If a fisherman has, a boat and lighting then he can fish at night comfortably.
In the present times, sport fishers catch, mark, and then release the fish then sending the statistics to the recording centers. The competitions are based on length of the caught fish. The number of fish caught and the species is a factor for consideration. More points are given to the group that uses thin and weaker lines. Since fishing can be done during the day and at night. It is advisable to dress well to protect the body from access to insects. The clothes act as a protective gear to your body. If fishing at night, this will also help fishermen to keep warm. A sports fisher should avoid perfumes. Some insects like bees and flies like perfume. One can use plants like lemon, and eucalyptus among others that have been known to repel mosquitoes. Rubbing crushed forms of these plants help keep away the insects. However, some methods cannot work for fishing like the use of mosquito nets. Additionally, many pest control companies offer natural insect repellents in the form of oils and lotions.
Another natural means is avoiding beer drinking. Research show this attracts mosquitoes to the body. The smell of alcohol attracts mosquitoes. Fishermen can use lanterns at night. This does not only help chase away insects like mosquitoes and fleas but also aid then in seeing around the water bodies. There are alternative mosquito nets made for the head. They give a good defense while doing an outdoor activity like fishing. It prevents a person from flying and biting insects that can disturb while fishing yet one needs concentration. Though there are regulations constraining fishing, it is still liked by many people.

Catch More Fish With Humminbird Fish Finders by Steve Canerr
A fish finder might be an incredibly priceless and time-saving piece of apparatus for an angler. Nonetheless, to get essentially the most efficient use potential out of a brand new fish finder, it have to be mounted and used properly.
There are three primary parts to every fish finder: the transducer, the display display screen, and the mounting mechanism. The transducer is the piece of equipment that converts an electrical impulse from the transmitter into a sound wave after which sends this sound wave down into the water. It then receives the echo of this sound wave as it bounces back and converts it again into an electrical signal, which is then despatched from a receiver to the display screen.
There are various different types of transducers. Portable transducers typically connect to a vessel briefly utilizing suction cups. This enables them to be moved from boat to boat or repositioned on the identical boat. Other transducers truly shoot by the hull of a boat. These can be used on plastic or fiberglass hulls. Nonetheless other transducers are actually mounted in a gap in the hull of the boat; these are often known as by means of hull transducers. There are also transom mount transducers which mount on the boat's transom, or the flat termination to a stern. Lastly, there are still different models which can be really transducer floats, which are used on some radio frequency handheld units from such producers as Humminbird.
Transducers also are available single or dual frequencies. Generally, single frequency transducers are advantageous for shallow water fishing, however a twin frequency mannequin is really useful for deep water. The twin frequencies permit the angler to modify between excessive and low frequencies (or view them at the same time), providing excessive frequency detail with low frequency deep water capabilities. Many transducers also have temperature capabilities to measure the floor water temperature.
There are also different types of show screens for fish finders. Each the dimensions of the display screen and the show's decision are important. Many moveable fish finders have very small screens. Some are even worn like a wrist watch. Meanwhile, the costlier, mounted fish finders can assist large, high decision show screens. There are also grayscale screens or full color decision screens. Grayscale screens are often discovered on moveable and different less expensive fish finders, however they usually don't provide clear definition, especially in situations with poor lighting or glare.
Utilizing a fish finder takes some follow and it requires getting a really feel for the varied options of your individual unit. As soon as turned on, the fish finder can be in its automated, default mode. The perfect thought is to try the unit in this situation for some period of time to get used to the show and the readings. Then, one can begin to make manual changes, one by one, and check how the assorted options work. There will normally be some type of sensitivity setting that adjusts the fish finder's power and likewise a fish identification setting that can be utilized to get used to the arches that show on the screen for fish. There may also be a depth setting that may be adjusted to find out the exact depth of fish proven on the display. Eventually, it is possible for you to to customise your fish finder so it really works optimally to your enjoyment.

Making Homemade Carp and Catfish Boilies for Beginners and Big Fish! by Tim F. Richardson
Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned bait maker there is always more you can learn and the potential to discover new secrets is always ongoing because even top fish scientists admit they are far from knowing it all! To improve your readymade baits or be able to make homemade baits that perform equally or even better than the vast majority of readymade baits takes technical knowledge and loads of field testing on a range of waters right through the year. But one thing is for sure – we all have to start somewhere; so why not begin with big fish bait recipes and read on now!
The history of the modern phenomenon of boilie making could be said to go back many hundreds of years or thousands of year because high protein baits have been used in fishing for millennia. A guy called Fred Wilton did something unusual in that he took the essential needs of carp in particular and built his boilie and paste baits on essential fish needs to maximise possibilities that fish would need to consume his baits to top up their natural foods right through the year if possible. I personally think that high nutritive baits are just one option and I combine aspects of very instantly attractive and addictive substances chosen very specifically in my homemade baits and in fact do not aim to make a complete so-called food bait with balanced amino acids etc because it is simply not that vital to do this to catch fish - even against baits made like this!
There was a time when caseins were the basis of high nutritive fishing baits, backed up by other caseinates plus other ingredients and additives to supply a broader range of nutrition and additional stimulation and attraction, such as liver and yeast powders and so on. Very many anglers were hooked on the idea of using baits based on milk protein ingredients, from the sixties until the rising popularity of fish meal baits utilising soluble fish protein etc that occurred around the middle of the early to the mid nineteen-nineties – at least in my area of the UK which was Essex. Fish meals were more in favour in part because they were much cheaper than the increasingly costly milk proteins, but also because things like the cheaper bird food baits prove that you do not need to spend a fortune to make highly successful HNV or balanced nutrition baits.
Although fish meal baits came more into prominence in the nineties, bird food and milk protein type HNV baits were not the only forms of nutritional baits as there are endless variation, and the success of flavour-over-dosed baits and fake baits show that many other options also exist. Fish such as carp or catfish can be trained like dogs or humans for that matter to come back for more food when it is introduced to them regularly. Where baits contain particularly stimulating nutrition and bioactive factors then baits can be extremely successful – even if you are only an average angler. HNV type baits can be an excellent leveller of results even against better more talented and experienced anglers when you regularly apply them over time - which is a major reason I prefer to make my own unique economical ones and because this is a long-proven big fish tactic for both big carp and catfish and other species too!
Maybe as a beginner you have heard of a few baits and ingredients but the very best point to begin your bait making designs from is the fish. Learning about fish might sound boring until you know a bit more and seriously begin to appreciate the massive power it can give you in your fishing even against better more experienced more talented anglers – for the rest of your life. Like in the old saying knowledge is power, but in this case knowledge of fish senses, internal processes and how bait substances can exploit and manipulate and boost such things like digestion and energy for instance is extremely well proven to lead to catches of very many big fish that make other anglers jealous!
When you begin bait making learning about fish first then it is very much easier to select a range of bait ingredients, additives, special enhancers, palatants, flavours, digestion boosters, addictive and habit-forming substances etc with absolute confidence! To write about bait in depth takes a depth of personal experience and catches from experimenting with bait substances and various combinations and levels etc over many years and my bait making days began for me around the age of 7 back in the early seventies. Many new bait substances are available now that really seriously boost catch results and because these substances are so potent you do not need to use much of them.
In the old days milk protein baits were used very sparingly by most anglers because for one thing they were very high in protein so the fish did not need to eat many before getting full; and anyway, they worked instantly on the vast majority of waters. When fish meal baits came into prominence it was the relatively new tactic of dumping many kilograms of boilies into a swim to draw and hold the fish. Please do not get the idea that you need to make hundreds of kilograms of homemade boilies to catch big fish because just a handful of extremely potent homemade baits are always be just as good as any pricy readymade bait when you fish them in the right spot with a suitable rig!
The major reason why you can have absolute confidence in your own unique homemade baits and recipes is because preferably you will have studied the fish in detail in terms of the many factors that you can potentially exploit to manipulate their feeding modes, feeding habits, feeding intensity and location and so on. I spent a very long time putting this kind of information all into my ebooks to make this far quicker and easier to understand, and to put into practice in formulating your own unique baits that catch fish again and again. Now I will provide you with a simple homemade bait recipe for big fish that will kick start you on the bait-making road - or will give you something a little bit different if you already have some experience!
This bait is not rocket science but explaining science behind aspects of it could be quite involved but needless to say this starter bait will catch big fish! The bulk of the bait is low temperature fish meal with a few binding additions and extras to boost other things such as nutritional value, bait palatability, improve digestion and bait performance, and to make the bait a little different to standard readymade baits! It should be stated here that this is not an absolute bait and it is flexible in amounts, used or other additions, or ingredient availability and according to your pocket (or your own preferences; it is certainly not optimised in terms of digestion for example, but it will catch big fish (of that there is no doubt!)
7 ounces of low temperature fish meal.
2 ounces of calcium caseinate.
1 ounce of 90 mesh casein.
2 ounces of CLO.
1 ounce of blood plasma.
1 ounce of hydrolysed poultry protein.
1 ounce of blue cheese powder.
1 ounce of chopped fennel seeds.
This bait can be made with betaine and liquid eggs with Minamino or other liquid foods etc such as home liquidised liver and anchovy extract for instance; and a low level of oil too is a very beneficial (such as walnut oil.) As for flavours, palatants, sweeteners or labels etc you might choose an essential oil of your choice or even natural orange extract in sunflower oil (just to be different) from the local supermarket. Suppliers are many but the blood plasma plus a few of the other things mentioned are supplied by CC Moore on line. Do not forget that you can use a homemade bait and a readymade bait on the same rig or use homemade baits and recipes in making your own PVA net or bag type baits and fish any other baits on your rigs or vice-versa etc. (For further information on making, adapting, designing and boosting your baits see my website Baitbigfish right now!)

BBQ Smoker Do's And Don'ts - Part 1 by Lewis Theaksotn
Don't get in a hurry
Do not get yourself into a hurry when smoking meat. Good BBQ, and all good food for that matter, takes time and patience. You simply can't rush into it. Allow around 1 to 1 1/2 hours per pound for most meats. If you are using a wood-burning smoker, factor in the addition of more fuel every thirty minutes or so.
Keep the lid shut!
One of the most common, and possibly worst mistakes that new users make when using a smoker, is opening the lid too often during cooking. This lets out the heat and the smoker will be below temperature. You should only raise the lid when absolutely necessary to mop or reposition the meat.
Keep it simple
There is a great temptation to cook expensive cuts of meat on a brand new smoker, such as racks of ribs, game or brisket. When starting out, choose an inexpensive cut of meat such as pork or whole chicken. The path to cooking top quality Q takes time, so start off easy, use cheap cuts, and learn from your mistakes.
If you have time to yourself, buy yourself a few whole chickens and cook one at a time, while monitoring the temperatures you are using, the control of the vents, noting the smell of the smoke, and so on. You will easily be able to guage the differences between the birds you have cooked, and this knowledge will prove invaluable as you branch out into smoking other meats.
Lighter fluids ruin good meat
Do not use lighter fluids to start off charcoal fuel. While it is time saving, lighter fluid is responsible for unpleasant odors in your smoked meat. It is strongly recommended that charcoal users should use a chimney starter for charcoal. Imagine the smoke permeating the meat and adding plenty of great flavor, and then consider the fumes from lighter fluid doing the same thing. Using lighter fluid makes no sense at all if great flavor is what you want.
Keep a close eye on wood burners
When using a wood burning smoker, avoid closing the inlets and exhausts to control the flame when the fire is big. Open the exhaust all the way and control the intake of air with the inlet control. Take care when closing the inlet as the fire can smolder and give you some unpleasant tasting smoke. Always keep the fire down and the dampers wide open. Note: If the smoke smells bad, then so will your meat!

Octagon Picnic Table Plans and Drawings for Better Parties by Kevin M. Brown
Have you thrown a party in your garden where you made great food and drinks and your guests almost had a great time? Almost, because the only thing missing was a good octagon picnic table where all of your guests could sit together and enjoy the sumptuous fare. A lot of guests may have ended up having their food standing, with only a few lucky ones managing to find seats. Octagon Picnic Table Plans and Drawings are just what you need to make a great picnic table yourself.
Even though you may be a great do-it-yourselfer, it is still best to follow good plans and drawings. Otherwise, there is the likelihood of spending a lot of time, money and wasted effort, for an unsatisfactory result. Good plans and drawings would be able to provide you with such information as the amount of timber required, the kind of timber which is best suited for making an octagon picnic table, the tools required, and also provide simple instructions for making the furniture, along with plenty of illustrations and blueprints.
If you do not mind spending lavishly, then buying an octagon picnic table may be right for you. Otherwise, building one with the help of a good set plans and drawings is an ideal solution. Let us look at some of the points which you have to pay attention to when you go about the task of building your octagon picnic table. It is best to follow a blue print which is provided in the plans and drawings. You may take a print out of this, so that you can easily refer to them as and when you want to. As this is the first time that you are building this furniture, a blue print would prove to be a good guide which would provide you detailed instructions and drawings so that you cannot go wrong. You are also sure to end up with a sturdy and nice looking octagon picnic table. You would have to use treated lumber and galvanized hardware. Information of the kind of lumber to be used and the quantity required would be provided by your plans and drawings. If you start out without the help of a blueprint, you may end up buying too much lumber, which would only go waste. It is important to have the right tools when you start out on your work. In their absence, you may spend more time visiting the hardware or home improvement store than on your actual task. The last step in the process is of course, putting together the octagon picnic table, by following your plans and drawings. This would involve measuring and cutting the lumber, and putting them together. It helps to do this on a level surface. You may involve other members of your family, as well as your friends in this task, to make it easier and more interesting.
There are a few things about which you have to be careful about when building your octagon picnic table. As you are required to cut a lot of lumber, you should always use safety glasses. If you use treated lumber, it is best to be careful and follow safety instructions, as it can be dangerous if not handled properly.
Your octagon picnic table built with the help of plans and drawings is sure to win you praises from your friends and neighbors, and add to the look of your lawn. With the added advantage of huge savings in cost as compared to buying it, it would be well worth the effort and time spent. What's more, it may motivate you to make frequent plans for picnics and parties.
A set of plans and drawings which I have found to be very useful in the construction of on octagon picnic table is

Home Cooking with a Range Hood by Ckint Jhonson
There are several informative and interesting cooking shows on TV today and more people are exploring the art of home cooking. If you have fallen in love with the idea of home cooked meals and are planning on experimenting with varied different recipes, you should consider upgrading your range with a kitchen hood. Varieties of kitchen hood types exist including the convertible, vented, and non-vented types. Each of these types of hoods can help to circulate the air to either the outside of a building (vented) or take exhaust air from the range, run it through a filter, and return the cleaned air to your kitchen
What purpose does a range hood serve? When you cook at home, you can cause a great deal of grease, smoke and moisture to move through your home. Instead of abandoning your range, you might want to consider having a kitchen hood added to your current range. A range hood can help to remove odors from getting into the rest of your home. If you burned something by accident, you do not want to be reminded of the smell for days after the event because the burnt smell is still sitting in the rest of the house. Even if you have not burnt something, some odors while pleasant to begin with, can begin to change as they permeate your home. Do you want guests to visit and have them wonder why the home reeks of onion? Of course you do not. Adding a range hood will help remove odors and can ventilate the air out of your home depending on the type of kitchen hood you choose.
The website, Deluxe Range Hood, has many choices to pick from if you are looking for a kitchen hood or for an entire new range and hood all in one. This company provides quality products for its customers and makes available guides and manuals to help with the installation of the units. Deluxe Range Hood has set a goal to bring to the consumer a great variety of kitchen and range hoods that are good for the environment and are created to meet the highest quality needs of the consumer. Visit their website to see what products and information they can provide you when you decide to replace or renovate your current kitchen system.
When you are ready to consider a new range hood, you should understand some of the features the kitchen hood may come with. Some units will have a built in fan to help with circulation and may have variable speeds to choose from. An automated shutoff can prove useful so you do not have to worry about remembering to turn the unit off. Lights are often available on some units to help brighten up your work area. The amount of noise that you will find acceptable can play a role in choosing which kitchen hood unit to use. The more cubic feet per minute, (CFM) that a unit has can make a difference in how quickly it can move air out of the kitchen area.
Take advantage of upgrading your unit at home by adding a range hood. At Deluxe Range Hood you are sure to find the perfect kitchen hood for you that can make your next cooking experience even better than it is now.
